"Leaning into Love & Power" is an 8 week campaign of relational meetings (one-to-ones) aiming to develop a deeper understanding of who we are as a church in 2020 and what motivates us to collaborate in love and seek justice in the world.  2020 has impacted our lives in all kinds of ways, amplified our hopes and shaped new passions.  Our anxieties are many; and our church offers connection and purpose as we lean into an uncertain future.

The basic building block in this campaign is the relational meeting, a simple "one-to-one" conversation that lasts between 30 and 45 minutes.  Weekly, you'll have a chance to visit with long-time friends and new attendees too, sharing experiences and hopes, pressures experienced and questions unanswered.  These "one-to-ones" are simple, direct and meaningful.  We'll assign these visits, so you'll know who to contact and when.

Through these visits, we'll develop a new kind of connection with our church, and with our varied parts and people. We'll create time and space to re-connect and re-build the changing and growing body of the church. In doing so, we'll be "leaning" into love and power, exploring the resources and enegies that are ours together.

This summer's campaign kicks off on July 12 and concludes on September 5.  Our planning team is aiming for at least 50 participants and 250 conversations!  As the campaign concludes, we'll do a 'deep dive' into our stories and experiences, and we'll see what we've learned together!

"One to one" meetings may be held in person, with appropriate physical distancing, or by FaceTime, Zoom, Skype or (as a last resort) by telephone.

You're invited to join optional weekly meetings (in a larger group) that will be held during the campaign.  These offer us a chance to reflect on the process, what we've learned about ourselves and our church through this experience.

Join the church community on Sunday, July 12 at 9 am--for our first outdoor summer service--on the lawn in front of the Church Hill Apartments.  During this service, our team will lift up the goals and purpose of "Leaning Into Love & Power"--and invite God's blessing on all that we say and do over the summer!
